‘DITCHFORD DAYS’


A collaborative project between: Irthlingborough Historical Society, Irchester Parish Historical Society, and Rushden & District History Society.


Located in the Nene Valley, this little known Northamptonshire hamlet forms a corner of the historic parishes of Irthlingborough, Irchester and Rushden. 100 fascinating A4 pages featuring historical aspects of Ditchford from the Prehistoric Period to the present day. Illustrated with photographs, maps and diagrams each conveying aspects of the River Nene, its watermill, the Medieval river bridge, Victorian railway station, the renown ‘Treacle Mine’ — and memories of this once popular leisure destination.
