Cottage Pub 2001 |
|
The Cottage Public House was perhaps originally a farmhouse. It is now the oldest building in Little Irchester. It became a Beer House in the early 1800's and was owned by Dulley's Brewery of Wellingborough, who in turn sold out to Campbell Praed. It is built from the locally known 'Peterborough Brick' a yellowy/green brick. At the rear of the building is a rather nice ironstone stable. Originally the entrance to the pub was through a doorway which was located between the two windows. |
