Nobles was originally a house, it became a cobblers shop owned by Mr. Charles Slater in the early 1900s. In the 1930s it became a non-dispensing chemist shop belonging to Mr. DeBanke who was a failed chemist. He had originally worked as a fireworks expert for Buffalo Bills Wild West Show. The business closed as a chemist in the 1950s. In 1963 Mr. William (Bill) Nobles established a cobblers shop here which continued to operate until his retirement in 1998. The thatched house on the corner of Station Road is a medieval cruck framed house with a façade which was added in 1794. A date stone above the doorway commemorates this.
