High St. From Coop 2001

The thatched buildings on the left of the picture date from the 1600s-1700s. Originally there were more ironstone fronted and thatched buildings adjoining where the modern houses now stand. They were demolished in circa 1960. Originally there was also an entrance to Chapel Yard which consisted of around 10 houses. These were demolished at the same time and the bungalows in Chapel Hill now stand on the site.
